Making lasagna

I wanted to try make lasagna – it’s one of my favourite dish and a must order whenever I go to Secret Recipe. This is my experience – the results turn out alright.  I’ll share with you what I did anyhow:

Meat Sauce
(this is spicy version)
4 tablespoon of olive oil
10 small red onions
5 garlic
7 dried chillies
1 1/2 inch ginger  
(blend all of the above)  
1 carrot (diced small) 
400g tomato puree                    
400g peeled/diced tomatoes (in a can. I use Leggo)
500g minced beef                   
1 teaspoon of nutmeg powder                    
beef stock and salt to taste

Cheese Sauce 
3 tablespoon of butter
2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
2 cups of milk
200g mozarella chees
1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper each
 (don’t forget the lasagna sheets – I bought oven ready ones – San Remo)

Manual
Heat olive oil in the wok and make the sauces separately – “tumis” the blended stuff then add all the tomatoes followed by minced beef. Stir well till browned – add beef stock, nutmeg, diced carrot, salt and pepper. When cooked leave to cool.

In separate wok heat the butter till it turns liquid then add some flour. Stir well. Add in milk followed by mozarella cheese, salt and pepper to taste. Keep on stirring till sauce thickens a bit. Leave to cool.

  • Lay out the lasagna sheets according to size of pan and spread meat sauce, making sure each layer of lasagna sheets is well-moist by the meat sauce. Alternate layers with all the sauces and lasagna sheets until desired height. garnish with shredded mozarella cheese on top. Before that, preheat the oven at 180 degree celcius for 15 minutes. Later, bake lasagna for 30-40 minutes (check if cooked by poking a fork into it). Serve to 4-5 people.
